Guaymoreto Lagoon & Mangrove Kayak Tour: Highlights
Located just East of the Bay of Trujillo, the Guaymoreto Lagoon Wildlife Refuges protects the fragile mangrove habitat and is a nature lover's dream. Kayaking through the mangrove trees and lagoon creates the perfect environment for enjoying the vast amount of native birds and fish.
During your one-hour kayak trip, keep an eye-out for Colorful Butterflies, Otters, Howler Monkeys, Capucin Monkeys and Raccoons. This Guaymoreto Lagoon and Mangrove Kayak tour is truly a bird watcher's paradise: Storks, Herons, Ducks, Egrets, Pelicans and other brilliant birds dot the shore and sky in search of fish and sealife in the extensive wetlands and mangroves. Your guide will point out the many migratory and indigenous birds that inhabit the lagoon and mangroves, as you slowly travel the waterways via your own kayak.
Guaymoreto Lagoon & Mangroves by Boat Tour: $35 per guest
- Meet at our Kiosk/Assembly Area and Depart 1 1/2 Hours after your ship's scheduled time of arrival at our port (for example, if you are scheduled to arrive at 8AM, we leave at 9:30 AM!) This is a Group Tour with other guests from your ship...please be prompt. Your tour vehcile and guide will be waiting to depart one and a half hours after your ship's scheduled arrival.
- There is a 4-person minimum for this tour. If you have less than 4 guests in your group, please fill out the tour request form below and we will do our best to get a group together from your ship! Also, feel free to post details of this kayak tour on your Cruise Critic and other Cruise-related message boards to entice others to join you!
- 1 Hour of Kayaking through the natural mangrove channels, where we will see a variety of birds and panoramic views fo the Laguna de Guaymoreto. Kayaks and safety jacket provided. Scenic roundtrip transportation to/from the launching point takes approximately 15 minutes each way. You tour concludes at Trujillo Beach, right next to the cruise ship dock!
- ++If your ship arrives late: Your Lagoon & Mangroves Kayak Tour will STILL leave one-and-a-half hours after your ship originally scheduled arrival time, so be prompt!
- For our Trujillo excursions, we require a PayPal deposit in the amount of $5 per person.
- Your deposit is 100% Refundable if your ship is unable to dock. We will also refund your deposit if we receive your cancellation by email dated at least 48 hours prior to your ship's arrival time at our port. For cancellations, please drop us an email ASAP!
